Elizabeth Clark "Liz" Phair is a singer, songwriter and guitarist born in New Haven, Connecticut. She began her career in the early 1990s by self-releasing audio cassettes under the name Girly Sound, before signing with the independent record label Matador Records. Her 1993 debut studio album Exile in Guyville has been ranked by Rolling Stone as one of 'the top 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.' Since her debut, Liz has released five additional studio albums, with the latest, Funstyle, released earlier last July. Liz is currently on tour promoting her latest album and will be stopping at the Fine Line Music Cafe this Thursday, January 20th at 7pm.
